- Description: Exoneree. A Baltimore man freed in 2016, after ten years in prison. Bill Ritz was lead detective and Kirk Hastings was also involved.
Ezra Mable was convicted of murder and released after ten years in prison following a postconviction appeal. Bill Ritz investigated the case, and he and Detective Kirk Hastings were both named in a lawsuit brought by Mable. Mable claimed that police ignored multiple witnesses and tips pointing to another suspect, co-erced witnesses to testify and “lost” physical evidence.
