What’s new on the Wiki?
Adnan Syed’s petition for writ of certiorari to the United States Supreme Court is here. Syed is essentially asking the Supreme Court to hear his appeal from Maryland’s highest court denying him a new trial. Three amicus briefs have been filed on his behalf: The National Association of Criminal Defense Lawyers, The Innocence Network and the Roderick and Solange MacArthur Justice Center, and Martin Tankleff and 38 Other Wrongfully Convicted Individuals. Details can be found on the Appeals page.

What’s the Current Status of the Adnan Syed Case?
The Court of Appeals of Maryland denied Adnan Syed a new trial on March 8, 2019. Syed has filed a petition for writ of certiorari with the United States Supreme Court, asking the Supreme Court to overrule the Maryland court.
Adnan Syed remains in prison.
What Happens Next?
The State of Maryland intends to file an opposition to Syed’s petition with the Supreme Court. It has received an extension to file its brief, which is now due October 21, 2019.
If four justices of the Supreme Court agree to take the case, the parties will file full briefs on the merits, and will argue the case in front of the Supreme Court. The Supreme Court will issue a decision, either by denying Syed’s petition, or a decision on the merits, by June 2020.
Wow, All This Happened Since Serial?
Yes, one of the goals of this website, is to share the new information and particularly the documents and other materials that have been made public since the Serial podcast concluded in 2014. We were inspired by the Undisclosed podcast, which aired in 2015, though we are not affiliated with the Undisclosed team. Check out trial transcripts, police reports, photos, and the latest appeal case details.
